Accidents happen. One of your children dropped something hard on the laminate flooring, causing damage. It happens. Invision Hardwood & Décor wants to teach you how to make it un-happen. You don’t have to be a master carpenter to repair your damaged laminate flooring.

Fixing Basic Surface Issues in Your Laminate Flooring

If your floor suffered a minor scratch or surface issue, you lucked out. This is a much easier fix than replacing an entire floor board. All you need to do is purchase a laminate flooring repair kit that matches the color of your floor. Using the putty or crayon provided in your laminate flooring repair kit, fill in and smooth out the scratches. When you are finished, wipe the area and ensure that you did not accidently apply the filling into undamaged areas of your laminate flooring.

Replacing a Board in Your Laminate Flooring

If you are at this stage, it’s a little more challenging than fixing a scratch or minor blemish. Don’t stress, we are here to help you get through this. Find the damaged area of your laminate flooring and cut it out. An easy way to do this is to drill two holes near the damaged area, using the holes, cut a line that clearly connects them and allows you to isolate the problem. Remove the damaged section and cut the rest of the damaged board out, leaving a perfect space for a new board. Take a new replacement board and cut off the tongue and apply glue to the edges. Fit the board into the space and press it down tightly, ensuring that it fits well. Remove any excess glue using a damp cloth and when it is dry, place a heavy weight or object on top of the board to help it stay in place.
